The story
Kaia was born when founders, Konstantin Mehl and Manuel Thurner, came together on their mission to find a more effective way to manage chronic back pain. After years of personal struggle with pain, the founder duo discovered the solution: multimodal therapy, the gold standard for pain management based on a combination of physical exercise and mind-body support. The challenge was that the cost – both time and money – made this therapy virtually inaccessible to just about everyone.
And so enter Kaia: a digital version of multimodal therapy that can be accessed by anyone, anytime, anywhere.
Officially launched in 2016, Kaia Health is headquartered in Munich, Germany and New York City.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Kaia today
Today, Kaia offers digital programs to help people with back, joint and chronic pain, as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Our platform has grown over the years to support large populations of members dealing with pain and also those seeking a preventative measure to live a pain-free life.
Primarily in the US and in Europe but ever expanding, these populations range from enterprise companies to preeminent health plans and health systems.
